The Red Line is an interactive exhibit that raises awareness about the history of redlining and its lasting effects. Featuring a large, physical location pin installed in historically redlined neighborhoods, it marks the boundaries of
areas once segregated and deprived of resources.

The exhibit also highlights the link between environmental racism and climate change, showing how these neighborhoods still face disproportionate environmental hazards like poor air quality, lack of green space, and
vulnerability to extreme weather. By connecting redlining, environmental injustice, and climate vulnerability, TheRed Line calls for action to address the ongoing impact of systemic inequality.

Interactive touchscreens and digital maps will display historical information about redlining, explaining how discriminatory policies shaped urban development and contributed to ongoing inequalities.Short films or augmented reality experiences will immerse visitors in personal stories from residents who lived through redlining, offering emotional insights into the effects of these policies.

Additionally, the exhibit will connect these experiences to environmental racism and climate change, showing how redlined neighborhoods continue to face disproportionate environmental hazards—like pollution, poor air quality, and limited green space—that make them more vulnerable to climate-related challenges such as heatwaves, flooding, and natural
disasters.
